Nokia just announced its new Dual -- SIM S40 phone , the C2-03 device.Describing the device as a "Touch and Type" one (meaning it combines a physical keypad with a touchscreen), the C2-03 is designed with people with multiple SIM needs in mind. It can take two at a time but it also has the capacity to remember the settings for five SIMs in total.
Plus, it has an "Easy Swap" feature, meaning that you can simply pop a new SIM in, using the side slot, and you won't even have to reboot.
Specs-wise, this phone is no great shaker, it's more practical than spectacular but you will get 400 hours of standby, 5 hours of talk-time and 35 hours of music playback.
On board memory is a paltry 10MB though so if you are thinking of adding some tunes, you'll need to expand using the microSD option (up to 32GB).
The phone comes with a feature called ‘Quick Swap’ . What it does is that it lets you save SIM profiles to easily enable as soon as the new SIM is entered. One SIM Slot is located inside the phone while the other is outside to allow easy SIM changes.
Nokia which has tied up with Microsoft for launching mobile phones on the Windows platform, restated its commitment to Symbian.
"This July, Nokia will start shipping Nokia N8s, E7s, C7s and C6-01s with the new Symbian Anna software update," Elop said.
By the end of August, existing owners of these devices can also download Symbian Anna.
Elop added that over the next 12 months, Nokia plans to launch up to 10 new Symbian-based smartphones in the market.
Nokia also revealed its latest smartphone, the Nokia N9, an all-screen device that will allow user to navigate the phone by swiping on the screen.
Nokia C2-03 Price
The Nokia C2-03 will be available in Q3 2011 in India, China, SEAP, Eurasia and MEA and will cost €77 or Rs.5000 approx. excluding taxes .
