Sony Ericsson To Use NFC Technology From NXP Semiconductors

Sony Ericsson to use the NFC technology from Dutch semiconductor company NXP Semiconductors for its Android-based smartphones.


The Dutch company, NXP Semiconductors has been providing embedded, secure NFC systems. The NFC software will help to enable the Google Wallet application on Android-based smartphones.

Sony Ericsson decided to use NFC in order to enhance its consumers’ mobile experiences and provide the smartphone users more mobile transaction apps.

Sony Ericsson to use NXP PN65 NFC system in its Android-based smartphones which includes NFC radio controller, the embedded secure element and NFC software.

On the other hand, British mobile lovers were disppointed as Sony Ericsson has put off it plans to lunch its Walkman W8 Android phone in UK.

According to a statement issued by the company, the W8 Walkman phone will be availble in China, Hong Kong, Indonesia, India, Malaysia, Philippines, Singapore, Taiwan, Thailand and Vietnam.  Read More
